Stephen Mabey is a CPA, CA and the Managing Director of Applied Strategies, Inc.

Seen as a forward thinker by colleagues and clients alike, Stephen works with small to medium-sized law firms, and individual lawyers, to develop practical, pragmatic solutions to their business challenges.

Stephen leverages 29 years of hands-on experience with law firm management combined with his professional financial training to offer clients real-world practical advice on a wide range of law firm management issues. A fundamental difference in Stephen’s approach is that he has actually had to execute on the advice / strategies he shares with his clients.

Stephen’s focus is on law firms in general and on small to medium size law firms in particular. He has written about and advised on, a wide range of issues including -  leadership, business development, marketing, key performance indicators, competitive intelligence, finance, practice transitioning, compensation, organizational structures, succession planning,  partnership arrangements and firm retreats.

In 2013, Stephen was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management in the United States in recognition of his sustained commitment to the highest standards of professionalism in law practice management. He was the 12th Canadian to receive this honor.
