Asset Manager, Thermal

Northwest Territories 

Our client, an electrical company in the Northwest Territories is seeking an Asset Manager, Thermal to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer the Asset Manager will be responsible for managing all thermal assets for the Thermal Division’s generating stations by identifying and monitoring each system's performance and providing technical support to operations. As the ideal candidate, you will conduct risk assessments, develop a corporate asset inventory, create preliminary design strategies for updates and provide overall direction of the maintenance strategies. You will also develop the Corporate Capital Plans for the Thermal Division and assist in establishing Key Performance Indicators. You will establish and maintain internal communication networks with respect to asset management and cultivate and maintain effective external relationships with electric utility companies and Government departments to provide information on the asset management system.

As the successful candidate, you possess a civil, electrical or mechanical engineering degree with a Professional Engineering Designation and are eligible for registration with NAPEG. You have 5+ years of related engineering experience and asset management in a utility setting with Thermal and/or Hydro Generation. You have experience in design, construction and maintenance of assets situated in a northern environment combined with a solid understanding of computerized maintenance systems. This role requires someone with excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
