Director of Supply Chain

Our client, an independent distributor is looking for a Director of Supply Chain in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

As the Director of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the supply chain management procedures to ensure timely, proactive and cost effective purchasing and just in time delivery to reduce carrying costs. You will build a high performance team by recruiting, engaging, training and motivating staff. The Director of Supply Chain will provide leadership through open communication, constructive feedback and alignment to corporate objectives, strategies and goals. You will ensure end-to-end product supply is managed and lead all national logistics functions, including all compliance and transportation activities. Continuously monitor the industry for changes in legislation that will affect the business processes or impose financial risk. You will partner with key stakeholders to maintain strong and enduring relationships both internally and externally and oversee contract negotiations.  

As the successful candidate, you have in-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices and a strong operational background. Experience with inventory management systems and have a demonstrated track record of leading significant process improvements and managing through change. You are a hands-on, dynamic and collaborative individual with excellent problem solving skills and an entrepreneurial sense of ownership and dedication. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication and presentation skills with the ability to create and tailor to a wide variety of audiences. You have a strong business and financial acumen skills and understand multiple revenue streams and margins.
