Intermediate Mine Engineer

Baie Verte, Newfoundland

Our client, an entrepreneurial junior mining company that owns the Ming Mine copper-gold property, located on the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking an Intermediate Mining Engineer to join their Engineering Department as they embark on a planned expansion of the existing mine and mill operations.

Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer and indirectly to the General Manager, the specific responsibilities include; developing short and long-term mining plans, establishing schedules, monitoring and reporting variances to management. You will be generating mine design layouts (drift, sills, raises, stope blast holes) for mine operations and developing and maintaining statistical records and operating procedures. You will be monitoring, testing, and progress reporting on ground support installations.

As the successful candidate will have a B.Sc. Mine Engineering, with a PEng or eligibility for registration with PEGNL and 2-5 years of engineering and/or mine production experience in underground hard rock operations. You have experience in underground construction, development and mine operations and have a strong commitment to working in a safe and socially responsible manner. You have a proven track record in managing multiple tasks, prioritization and the meeting project time lines.
