Maintenance Manager

Milford, Nova Scotia  

Our client, a natural resource manufacturer and community developer is seeking a Maintenance Manager for their location in Mildford, Nova Scotia. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team in all aspects of the day to day maintenance service.                                                                                                                                 

Reporting the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of all maintenance operations, including technicians and trades people. You will have the ability to influence and negotiate within a customer focused environment and coach and develop others. You will provide critical information to the management team concerning maintenance, prevention and repairs in addition to leading your team in the achievement of departmental / divisional objectives. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for designing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program, managing the maintenance budget and implementing new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures that increase productivity and minimize downtime.

As the successful candidate you have a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a technical / manufacturing environment combined with post-secondary experience in a technical field. You have a strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics (PLC), mechanical, welding, machining, fabrication and carpentry. Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis and can strategically overcome internal challenges / obstacles. The Maintenance Manager must have strong leadership skills, with a focus on operations and business processes. You are self-driven, collaborative, and accountable with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, confidentially and integrity. Leveraging your project management skills and interpersonal skills you deliver projects on times and within budget.
