Mechanical Estimator

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Our client, a contractor for the construction industry is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Mechanical Estimator will be working on a full-range of commercial projects which would include commercial, government and institutional markets.

As the ideal candidate, you will prepare estimates of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications. Maintain the tendering process and prepare proposal documents that adhere to the tendering procedures. You will secure commercial mechanical business in Nova Scotia and liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, suppliers, owners, contractors and subcontractors. You will assist in the scheduling, planning and implementation of secured projects and assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards are being met.  

As the successful candidate you have several years of estimating experience within the commercial construction sector combined with post-secondary education in a construction technology (or equivalent). You have excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizing skills with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines. You are someone who can interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.
