Our client, a start-up company based in Halifax is seeking a Plant Manager to join their world-class team delivering breakthrough technologies that can change and improve lives.
Reporting directly to the COO, the Plant Manager will be responsible for leading, planning, organizing and controlling production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to company’s standards. You will be responsible for determining, sourcing and managing the human, capital and material resources required to meet production targets. You will create and implement standard operating procedures for production operations and ensure that procedures are adhered to. You will implement cost control programs, set production budgets and optimize uptime for equipment. As the Plant Manager, you will ensure collaboration throughout departments, drive a culture of quality and safety and promote continuous improvement initiatives among staff.
As the successful candidate, you have proven success in managing people and processes, identifying areas for improvement and have a disciplined and data-driven approach to planning. You have a bachelor’s degree (business administration, management engineering or industrial technology) and have a strong understanding of manufacturing, finance, business, human resources and engineering/technology principles and practices. You are knowledgeable of raw materials, quality systems and health and safety standards. You are someone who is accountable, resourceful, flexible, persuasive and have the ability to influence your ideas to the team. The Plant Manager will be highly motivated and have strong decision making and problem-solving skills and is able to think ‘outside of the box’.
