On behalf of Saint Mary’s University, we are recruiting a Senior Director, Facilities Management.
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration the Senior Director, Facilities Management provides vision, strategic direction and execution to the facilities management department. The Senior Director, Facilities Management is a collaborative leader with strong communication skills to engage a variety of stakeholders from the university community.
The Senior Director is a senior resource to the University and plays a key leadership role in the evolution of the University capital renewal and sustainability strategies. A champion of continuous commitment to excellent service and fiscal responsibility, the Senior Director establishes and implements short and long term goals and priorities for identifying critical issues and risk, develops strategies to address them.
The facilities management portfolio includes Campus Renewal Strategy and Implementation, Facility Maintenance, Custodial and Special Services, Operations and Energy Management, Housing and Conference Services, Food Service, Security and Emergency Management.
As the ideal candidate, you have a university degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or a related discipline) combined with ten years’ experience of increasing level of leadership, responsibility and accountability in a large complex environment. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and strategic leader who values and respects diverse opinions with experience managing in a unionized environment. Skilled in operations management, you have solid experience developing and managing budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and budget. The Senior Director demonstrates vision, inspires confidence and instills enthusiasm for institutional and personal goals. Experience in a university or public environment would be an asset.
