We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in financial reporting, general ledger management, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.  

This individual will be a proactive problem-solver with advanced Excel skills, a solid understanding of accounting systems – ideally Sage 300 – and expertise in GST/HST as it relates to service-based transactions. Strong communication skills, a high level of accuracy, and a collaborative mindset are essential.  

This permanent, full-time role is based out of PF Collins’ St. John’s office. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and corporate credit cards. 
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Oversee the general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliation and month-end and year-end closing processes.  
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. 
  • Assist in coordinating external audit by preparing documentation and supporting the resolution of audit findings. 
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and ensure compliance with changes in regulations and reporting requirements. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GST/HST as it applies to service-based transactions including non-resident tax requirements. 
  • Participate in the evaluation of departmental software to ensure alignment with accounting requirements. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of how departmental software systems integrate with Sage. 
  • Design, support and coordinate internal audits. 
  • Support the implementation and upgrade of accounting and financial reporting systems, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with best practices. 

 

What you’ll bring:
 

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting or financial management experience. 
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 is considered an asset. 
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrates a passion for working in a collaborative, forward-thinking team environment.
