Director, Delivery Operations

On behalf of our client MacKinnon and Olding (M&O), a Crosbie Group Limited member company, we are currently seeking a Director of Delivery Operations to be based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.  M&O offers a suite of marine and industrial solutions for its clients, and provides access to cutting edge innovations through the company’s network of global technology partners. M&O’s core business includes scaffolding, surface preparation, painting/coatings, insulation and flooring; with more than 30 years’ experience, M&O is the leading marine contractor on the east coast of Canada.

Reporting to the Group Vice President, M&O,  the Director of Delivery Operations will provide operational oversight and management of work performed by M&O. Possessing exceptional communication skills, you will lead planning and coordination across all M&O operations, prioritizing the allocation of materials, labour and equipment. The Director will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.  Evaluating completed work scopes and developing strategies for continuous improvement will be critical to your success. Accustomed to holding profit and loss responsibility, you will optimize the performance of personnel, equipment and materials to achieve or exceed contractual and organizational targets. You will lead operational personnel, ensuring they are adequately trained according to M&O, client and regulatory guidelines. A champion of a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, you will ensure all operations are compliant with M&O and client policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be the single point of contact for all client feedback, and will be required to effectively develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with clients, identifying and mitigating gaps in client service delivery, and ensuring operational compliance with client requirements.

As the ideal candidate, you take a consultative approach when planning project schedules, and monitoring progress, timelines and budgets. You are an excellent communicator, adept at maintaining an open and positive approach when delivering operational progress, as well as identifying operational challenges with all stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, inspectors and union representatives.  You possess a logical thought process when resolving issues, strategizing in diverse situations as they arise. A proven operations leader, experienced at working in client locations, you are self-disciplined, and knowledgeable in the application of health, safety and environmental practices and quality management systems.

Project Management Training and/or PMP designation, NACE Coating Inspector Training is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years in a site/operations leadership role, 7-10 years Project Management experience and 10+ years of experience in an industrial, construction or marine environment.
