Electrical Project Engineer

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Our client is a leader in the development and manufacturing of power conversion equipment for military application. On their behalf, we are seeking a Electrical Project Engineer to project manage a wide variety of electrical design activities of varying scope and scale.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Project Engineer will schedule development and maintenance, generate EAC, ETC and other program metrics, milestone creation and tracking and subcontract documentation deliverable management. You will provide technical assistance and direction while ensuring design compliance. Working with the engineering team, you will review customer specifications and develop designs to best support them including cost, budget and schedule as a design variable. You will assist in the creation and management of ILS requirements including technical manuals and other supporting documentation. As a skilled communicator, you will interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering accompanied with 5+ years experience in electrical design in a light manufacturing environment. You possess 3+ years in project management, preferably with a PMP designation and experience in electrical and electronic equipment. You have a strong electrical aptitude and advanced knowledge of project management tools including recent experience using MS Project and MS Access. With familiarity with military and commercial standards, you are able to apply this knowledge to your electrical designs. As a team player, you facilitate interaction and can effectively communicate with all levels of an organization and clients. You are an advanced problem solver and use your organization and planning skills to manage your time effectively.
