Estimator

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Our client, a Heavy Civil Contractor is seeking an Estimator to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will be preparing and coordinating the preparation of full cost estimates for a variety of projects.

As the ideal candidate, you will interpret documentation, specifications and design drawings to define the scope and contents of the estimates. Assist with negotiations, contract clarifications, consultants, clients, venders and subcontractors. The Estimator will maintain working files as supporting documentation for estimating figures, participate in the transfer of information on successful projects and analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative. You will ensure knowledge in the field remains current through participation in training and development activities.                                

As the successful candidate you have 3-5 years of experience in the civil construction industry combined with a CET Designation. You have excellent communication, planning, organizing and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines. The Estimator can build positive working relationships with internal and external clients and is service orientated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
