WoodsCamp is the technology platform building trusted relationships in partnership with America's four million woodland owners. Recently acquired by the American Forest Foundation (AFF), the WoodsCamp team is committed to AFF's mission of ensuring the sustainability of family forests. By leveraging emerging technologies, datasets and cloud services, they are unlocking impact at scale for forested land. The Woodscamp team is located in beautiful Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Historic District, known for its small-town charm and progressive outlook.

On their behalf, we are seeking a Technical Director who is a passionate, hands-on leader with deep experience in software development and working with spatial data/technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to AFF's mission and a passion for forest conservation. They are someone who is a strategic thinker and can implement positive change. Bringing a proven track-record building effective teams, the right candidate will also possess the capability to work directly with the lastest web-stack and cloud architecture.

The ideal candidate is a lead software architect or manager with a high degree of technical know-how and an empathetic leadership style. They will have extensive experience in cloud microservice architecture (AWS), docker/containerization, a backend language (node.js, PHP), restful APIs, and modern Javascript (React, Vue, or etc).
