In 1897, L.G Crosby founded the Crosby Molasses Company, and today it continues to flourish as an independently-owned family business under the direction of James Crosby, a fifth-generation molasses purveyor. While molasses continues to be the mainstay of the business, Crosby’s has an ever-expanding line of dry-sugar based products and syrups, with distribution in Canada, the New England states, and other international locations.

On their behalf, we are seeking a Sales Manager to manage the successful execution of sales initiatives, policies and programs while maintaining positive and productive customer and vendor relationships.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the successful candidate will pursue new business to grow market share through increasing sales and account development. Monitoring and managing complex account issues, you will ensure any problems are resolved in a cost effective and timely manner. You will create regional sales plans and quotas, forecast sales targets and business plan execution with an entrepreneurial spirit. Monitoring and analyzing sales promotion results, you will determine cost effectiveness of promotion campaigns. The Sales Manager will oversee sales and participate in marketing initiatives and analyze regional market trends, looking for and identifying potential growth areas. Travelling throughout designated areas, you will execute sales calls and develop strong relationships. You will participate in decisions for expansion or acquisition and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in Business or Marketing accompanied with 10 years of progressive sales experience. Your communication and interpersonal skills allow you to engage and manage well at all levels of an organization. You foster and cultivate business opportunities and partnerships while holding a high level of integrity and dependability. With a strong sense of urgency, organization, and time management skills, you are able to tactfully deal with internal and external customers. You are results driven and profitability minded in sales negotiations and have strong follow through. Detail oriented and self-motivated, you don’t skip over the small details and work to produce results.
