Venor is pleased to partner with Events East to facilitate the search for the Vice President Finance & Corporate Services.
The Vice President Finance & Corporate Services is a key member of the executive team for the organization. The role demands accountability for the oversight of the financial, risk, procurement, technology, and leadership for Events East and its respective entities. This position provides proactive business advice to the President & CEO and the Senior Leadership teams of both Halifax Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre; supporting alignment to strategy, compliance with controls, and monitoring and mitigation of risk.
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will lead and oversee a management team of financial, technical, human resource and procurement professionals. You will work to ensure that accounting and financial reporting functions are effective and efficient and that processes and procedures supporting the financial and operational framework as well as procurement practices, appropriate for a crown/government corporation, are monitored and maintained. You will be accountable for risk management, monitoring and reporting of the organization. Providing forecasting, reporting and budgeting, along with value-added analysis to Management, Board and Shareholders of Events East in an accurate and timely manner.
As the successful candidate you will guide the Senior Manager ICT, ensuring the delivery of high quality technology services and related initiatives of the organization, and champions ICT at the Senior Executive level. You will also lead the Senior Manager Human Resources to ensure high quality human resources services, support, and counsel are provided to the organization and its senior management.
The ideal candidate will have an accounting designation, a minimum of 15 years financial management and leadership experience, including the management of a Human Resource team and senior positions. You will have experience with technology related projects and procurement and contracting. Along with a demonstrated history in the development and monitoring of both financial and operational controls.
