Venor is proud to partner with ReelData AI on their search for a Finance & Business Process Analyst to join their growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
ReelData AI is transforming land-based aquaculture through the application of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and data-driven technology. Their innovative platform helps fish farms optimize feeding, improve fish health, and increase operational efficiency, supporting a more sustainable future for aquaculture around the world.
As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a Finance & Business Process Analyst to help build greater operational leverage across finance, reporting, people operations, and internal business processes. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with the CFO while partnering with leaders across production, deployment, engineering, product, and commercial teams to improve the systems that keep the business running efficiently.
This is a hybrid position based out of ReelData AI’s Dartmouth office. Candidates must be based in Canada and able to work regularly from the Halifax Regional Municipality.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving environments. You’ll combine analytical thinking with practical execution, helping streamline recurring business processes, improve reporting, coordinate operational activities, and identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI.
Success in this role requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple functions while handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support Business Reporting & Operations
- Coordinate recurring KPI reporting, dashboards, and management reporting processes.
- Gather information from business systems and department leaders to prepare clear and accurate reporting packages.
- Maintain KPI dictionaries, reporting templates, trackers, and operational documentation.
- Support monthly operational reporting, investor updates, grant reporting, and internal business reviews.
Support Finance Operations
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.
- Maintain vendor and customer records while supporting invoice tracking and payment documentation.
- Prepare supporting documentation for financial reporting and operational reviews.
Coordinate People Operations
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, interview scheduling, hiring administration, offer letter preparation, and benefits coordination.
- Help maintain organized people operations processes that support a positive employee experience.
Support Corporate Administration
- Coordinate insurance renewals, legal administration, NDA workflows, corporate records, signature routing, and document management.
- Track deadlines for grants, wage subsidies, internship programs, and other non-dilutive funding initiatives.
Improve Internal Processes
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through better templates, spreadsheets, documentation, lightweight automations, and AI-enabled tools.
- Support general office operations, including equipment coordination, supplies, and administrative activities.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills with experience working with financial, operational, or business reporting data.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recurring priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
- Strong written communication skills and confidence following up with stakeholders across the business.
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial, employee, legal, and investor information.
- Comfortable balancing analytical work with practical operational coordination.
- Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and modern productivity tools to improve business processes.
- Ability to thrive within a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment where responsibilities evolve over time.
Assets Include
- Experience supporting finance operations, accounting, business operations, people operations, or startup administration.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes, grant reporting, hiring coordination, or corporate administration.
- Experience improving reporting workflows through spreadsheets, templates, dashboards, or lightweight automation.
- Exposure to SaaS, AI, robotics, hardware, aquaculture, or other technology-focused industries.
