Senior Network Engineer

As part of their growing Advanced Solutions team, IMP Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a consultative mindset. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of enterprise networking solutions while partnering closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges. 

This position is open to candidates based in Atlantic Canada.  

The Opportunity 

As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll play a lead role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networking solutions for clients across a variety of industries. This position combines network architecture with hands-on technical delivery, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both designing scalable infrastructure and seeing projects through to successful implementation. 

Working alongside sales, engineering, and strategic technology partners, you’ll help clients modernize their network environments while providing trusted technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Design and deliver enterprise networking solutions tailored to client environments and business objectives.  

• Provide technical consulting services across strategy, architecture, infrastructure planning, implementation, migrations, upgrades, and optimization.  

• Collaborate with clients and internal sales teams to develop practical technology solutions that align with customer needs.  

• Act as the technical lead for network infrastructure projects involving switching, wireless networking, and firewall technologies.  

• Translate high-level solution architecture into detailed technical designs and bills of materials.  

• Provide expert guidance on networking and security solutions while working closely with strategic vendor partners including Cisco, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and others.  

• Lead technical discussions and presentations with clients throughout the solution design process.  

• Stay current on emerging networking technologies through ongoing vendor training, certification, and professional development. 

What We Are Looking For 

• Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Networking, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered.  

• 10+ years of progressive experience implementing and supporting enterprise networking solutions.  

• Extensive hands-on experience with technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, or similar.  

• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise network, wireless, and security solutions.  

• Proven experience leading network architecture engagements from design through implementation.  

• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, wireless networking, firewalls, and enterprise network security.  

• Ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges while delivering exceptional customer service.  

• Comfortable working in client environments where responsiveness and business continuity are critical.  

Preferred Certifications 

• Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)  

• Fortinet (NSE3, NSE4 or equivalent)  

• HPE Aruba certifications  

• Other relevant networking or security certifications
