Senior Project Manager

Our client, Nexco Construction Company is growing and seeking an ambitious and results-driven Senior Project Manager based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

About the Role 

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead projects from pre-construction through closeout, overseeing all aspects of planning, execution, financial performance, and client management. Working closely with operations, field leadership, subcontractors, engineers, and clients, you will be empowered to drive project success while contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the organization. We are looking for a leader who is proactive, highly accountable, and motivated by delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the successful delivery of civil construction projects from pre-construction through completion and closeout.  
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.  
  • Oversee project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities to maximize profitability.  
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.  
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards.  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.  
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders to proactively identify challenges and solutions.  
  • Lead project meetings, communicate progress updates, and provide strategic direction to field teams.  
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, operational efficiencies, and enhanced project delivery.

Qualifications include

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in civil construction project management.  
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and project controls.  
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and stakeholders simultaneously.  
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and profitability.  
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office applications.  
  • Valid driver’s license.
