Venor is proud to partner with Archibald Drilling & Blasting in their search for a Surveyor to join their team in New Brunswick

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Surveyor to play a critical role in the planning, execution, and evaluation of blast operations. Working closely with blasters, engineers, and operations teams, the Surveyor will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while helping optimize performance across a wide range of projects.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work directly with customers and blasters to develop, review, and finalize blast designs
  • Assist with the development and verification of blast layouts and drill patterns
  • Conduct pre-blast and post-blast surveys using GPS, GNSS, total station, and drone technology
  • Generate accurate 3D terrain models, profiles, and supporting data
  • Monitor blast performance and support continuous blast optimization initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers, drill and blast crews, and management teams
  • Prepare and maintain detailed survey records, maps, and technical reports

What we are looking for

  • Degree or diploma in Surveying, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a Surveyor role, ideally in a mining, quarrying, or blasting environment
  • Proficiency with surveying tools including GNSS, GPS, total station, and drones
  • Experience with survey and blast design software
  • Strong understanding of drill and blast techniques and industry best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in remote, rugged, and outdoor environments
  • Working knowledge of safety systems and mine or blasting regulations
  • Blasting or explosives handling certifications considered an asset
  • UAV (drone) pilot certification considered an asset
