World Energy GH2 is a Newfoundland and Labrador-based renewable energy company that is affiliated with World Energy LLC, one of the world’s leading renewable fuel manufacturers. The organization is focused on harnessing Newfoundland and Labrador’s wind energy to develop the fuel of the future. World Energy GH2’s Project Nujio’qonik aims to be North America’s first commercial green hydrogen/ammonia producer created from 3+ Gigawatts of wind energy in one of the world’s best wind resource regions. Reporting the Director of Finance, the Accounting Clerk will be an integral part of the Finance/Accounting team, responsible for providing essential support in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining financial accuracy. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting in processing and recording accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, verifying and reconciling project-specific invoices, purchase orders, and payments, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and tracking of project-related financial data, preparing and processing employee expense reports, and ensuring strict adherence to project expense policies. Additionally, the Accounting Clerk will provide support during the month-end and year-end closing procedures, as well as assisting in conducting bank and account reconciliations, and completion of various administrative tasks.
As the ideal candidate, you have an associate degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance, along with 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting administrative position, or an equivalent mix of experience and education. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and procedures, as well as a proficiency in utilizing accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel, to efficiently manage financial data. Exceptional data entry skills are essential, along with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate and precise recording of financial information. The successful candidate must exemplify exceptional organizational and time management abilities, coupled with an analytical mindset in order to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment with precision and accuracy.
Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant financial regulations, project financial guidelines, and compliance standards. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with project team members and stakeholders. The ability to work independently as well as harmoniously as part of a team, making positive contributions towards project objectives, is essential. Demonstrating integrity and maintaining confidentiality while handling financial data and project-related information is of utmost importance.
