Bilingual Field Services Specialist

On behalf of our client, Circular Materials, we are excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bilingual Field Services Specialist to join their dynamic team in New Brunswick

This fully remote role, based anywhere in New Brunswick, offers you the chance to make a real impact on recycling operations by ensuring policies are effectively communicated, implemented, and continuously enhanced in the field. You will be at the forefront of driving operational efficiency and improving recyclable material collection and diversion, making a meaningful contribution to sustainability efforts across New Brunswick and Canada.

About Our Client
Circular Materials (CM) is a national producer-led not-for-profit organization that supports producers in meeting their obligations under extended producer responsibility regulations across Canada. CM is committed to building efficient and effective recycling systems to minimize waste and ensure materials are reused again and again.

Through the support of our founders and member producers, CM is implementing a national harmonized approach focused on improving recovery rates, meeting the needs and expectations of consumers, and protecting the natural environment. 

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Provide guidance and support for collection service providers, including municipalities and private haulers, on CM’s policies and best practices.
  • Gather and analyze in-field best practices and make recommendations for incorporating them into curbside and depot recycling programs.
  • Develop and implement monitoring programs to track recycling operations across New Brunswick, including site visits, inspections, data tracking, and contamination mitigation.
  • Attend and/or support site and material audits to support the Material Quality team.
  • Facilitate efficient changes to operations that support Circular Materials’ strategic and operational plans by providing support to service providers.
  • Prepare timely reports, support audits, and assist in waste composition studies to improve operational performance.
  • Work with service providers to oversee, lead, and/or participate in activities such as bale audits and waste composition studies to enhance the performance of Circular Materials’ waste diversion activities in material collection, transportation, processing, and materials marketing.
  • Represent the company in discussions with stakeholders, including communities, contractors, and industry associations.
  • Collaborate with the National Operations team on areas of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and resolve issues with contracted service providers while ensuring continuous improvement in operational performance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education in environmental studies, business/program administration, engineering technology, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in recycling programs, waste management, or related roles.
  • Being fully bilingual in both English and French is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with communities, internal teams, and all levels of the organization.
  • Experience conducting detailed analysis and providing summaries and recommendations. 
  • Direct experience or knowledge of PPP recycling programs, stewardship programs, or related fields is an asset.
  • Knowledge of waste management, materials management, commodity markets, logistics, or related operational business activities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change, growth, and innovation.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, planning, and execution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and implement effective project plans.
