About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President of Governance and Legal, the Board Coordinator plays a key role in the effective operation of the Board of Directors and its Committees, acting as a bridge between the Board and the Executive team. 

The Board Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support, including meticulously preparing and distributing meeting agendas and materials, coordinating logistics, and maintaining precise records of minutes and decisions. This includes the ability to coordinate all meeting logistics, ensure accurate and timely distribution of materials, and support the development and implementation of board policies and procedures. Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential to ensure that all board processes adhere to governance protocols and corporate policies. 

Additionally, the Board Coordinator will facilitate effective communication among board members and between the board and the organization, including drafting and distributing official correspondence. The Coordinator’s ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion will be important in fostering smooth and effective communication within the Board members and the Executive team. 

As a key liaison, the Board Coordinator will ensure the smooth execution of Board activities, contributing to the overall success of WCB by supporting the effective functioning of the Board and its Committees. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to elevate the governance function within a respected organization. 

About You 

As the ideal candidate, you possess:

  • An undergraduate degree or a 2-year college diploma, along with a minimum of 5 years of progressively complex senior administrative experience, including specialized knowledge of Board of Governance procedures.
  • Previous experience as a coordinator, paralegal, or executive assistant working directly with a board of directors in a nonprofit, government agency, or corporate setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Digital proficiency, including advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Board Portal Software, online survey tools, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Proficiency or familiarity with board management software (e.g., Diligent, BoardEffect).
  • Strong project management skills, with experience using project management tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, maintaining professionalism and integrity.
  • A sound understanding of corporate governance and board processes and practices.
  • Practical experience in event planning and hosting, with attention to detail in managing logistics for board and committee meetings, retreats, and other events.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally as required.

The Offer

WCB offers a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $56,896 – $71,053
