Venor is proud to be partnering with The Shaw Group, one of Eastern Canada’s leading construction product manufacturers and community developers in their search for a new Business Development Manager to join their team. With over 160 years of history, the company has grown from its roots in clay and tile manufacturing into a diverse group of businesses producing nearly 1,000 products across 12 facilities in the Maritimes. Through its Shaw Brick division, Shaw has expanded its cladding portfolio to include high-quality metal, aluminum, and porcelain solutions, supported by retail locations in Dartmouth, Sydney, Moncton, Saint John, and Fredericton.

We are seeking a results-driven, technically knowledgeable professional with a consultative sales approach to join the team as Business Development Manager – Non-Masonry Cladding. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and project owners across Nova Scotia, helping drive the growth of Shaw’s non-masonry cladding business. Your work will directly contribute to the company’s reputation for quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, contractors, developers, and project owners across Nova Scotia.
  • Engage early in the design and specification process to position Shaw’s non-masonry cladding solutions effectively.
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications across multiple product lines.
  • Assess client needs and prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and technical recommendations.
  • Manage cladding projects from specification through installation and completion, ensuring a high-quality customer experience throughout.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to architects, engineers, and contractors, acting as a trusted product resource.
  • Collaborate closely with Shaw’s Commercial Team, suppliers, production teams, and retail locations to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain and manage a structured sales funnel, identifying opportunities and supporting forecast accuracy.
  • Conduct regular site visits to meet installers, provide consultations, and document project outcomes.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback with internal teams to support continuous improvement and product development.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical, construction-related, or building-products role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the construction and design community.
  • Strong understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, and construction processes.
  • Experience working with architects, engineers, developers, and contractors in a consultative capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, Microsoft Office, and related technical or estimating tools.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across Nova Scotia as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience with cladding systems, building envelope products, or exterior construction materials.
  • Previous experience managing projects from design through installation.
