Venor is pleased to partner with Gateway Insurance Group in their search for a Commercial Producer.

The Commercial Producer is an efficient, highly skilled sales professional in the commercial insurance business. You enjoy high volume mid-market business, and you know the ropes to get it written. Excellent one-on-one, you are also proficient on the phone, articulate, friendly, and your written correspondence is excellent.

You are interested in new thinking and new tools in an old-school industry. For example, ‘client first’  custom programs such as ‘The Risk Journey Investment Program’. Creating Client Program Elements suchas Profit Sharing, Rate Guarantees, Multi-Year Terms etc.  You wish to be entrepreneurial and you wish to be a key person on a team that achieves double digit annual organic growth.

You understand the value and critical importance of solid insurance and business advice for your clients. You are motivated to deliver outstanding customer service and the follow-up that guarantees it.  You pay attention to the detailed documentation of solid underwriting and understand the value of good interaction with the supporting team. You are a CAIB or CIP, or well on your way to these designations.

Reporting

You will report directly to Keith Dexter, CEO.  In addition to building the commercial lines business with your own production, you will work collaboratively with and in support of Keith Dexter in the development of the commercial lines business for Gateway Insurance Group and handle accounts that are assigned to you. 

Key Role & Responsibilities

The principal role of the Account Executive is to prospect, develop, and secure commercial lines insurance contracts for Gateway Insurance Group and the insurers we represent. This role will include:

  • Acquiring new clients and winning accounts against competitors, while building and maintaining relationships with ongoing clients.
  • Gathering information from clients, assessing their risk profile and insurance needs.
  • Researching the client’s industry and keeping up with changes in the client’s industry.
  • Researching the various offerings of insurance markets and finding the best policies for your clients at the right price.
  • Ensuring that clients understand the extent and terms of their coverage, and coverages available to them.
  • Advising your clients on risk management and how to mitigate risk.
  • Learning the unique techniques of The Risk Journey Investment Program, including selling same to strategic clients to achieve industry leading performance.
  • Assisting clients with claims management.
  • Working strategically with other team lead members regionally, as well as accessing and leveraging our national broker partners and volumes.

Training

Gateway will pay for industry-related training with approval in advance by management.
