Construction Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide variety of construction projects within the commercial sector.
  • Guide multi-disciplinary teams in the completion of preliminary and detailed design projects.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, specifications, schedules, cost reports.
  • Attend and/or facilitate project meetings.
  • Oversee project team including Project Managers and administration staff.
  • Supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets.
  • Communicate with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders, in a professional manner.
  • Facilitate construction inspections, quality assurance, and construction coordination.
  • Monitor staff productivity and utilization.
  • Mentor staff and project teams.
  • Manage site safety and productivity.
  • Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years experience working as a Project Manager on projects with a construction budget over $5,000,000.
  • A formal education relating to Estimating, Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management.
  • Structural Engineering experience is highly valued.
  • Architectural, structural, and mechanical blueprint reading and technical knowledge. 
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental principles, procedures, and legislation.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • The ability to work independently and under deadlines with a meticulous focus on details and results.
  • Ability to respond to periodic variable workloads.
  • Superior communication skills
