About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive design-build experience to lead and manage construction projects and ensure that project objectives and scope meet Sealand’s standards and expectations. Reporting to the Owner, the Project Manager will oversee and manage all phases of projects from conception through to completion and handover to clients while ensuring safety is a top priority. As a key member of our Project Team, the Project Manager plays a crucial role in delivering top-quality construction projects that uphold our company’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of the design-build process and ensure project designs meet client expectations by coordinating between the client, architects, consultants, trade contractors, and suppliers.
- Develop the full lifecycle project plan including the project scope, design, procurement, schedule, deliverables, and budget.
- Assist with the creation of the owner contract and lead the technical execution of the contract including procurement, negotiating trade contracts, and managing the change process to ensure that changes are documented properly.
- Lead the project teams, trade-contractors, consultants, and suppliers from project initiation to completion providing guidance about every aspect of the project so all team members understand their role and follow up regularly to ensure milestones are achieved, critical issues are identified, and solutions are implemented.
- Travel regularly to job sites to conduct site visits, evaluate project status, and ensure work is performed according to design specifications, building codes, and quality standards and implement change or corrective action as needed.
- Direct and minute regular design, progress, coordination and owner meetings as required during the life of the project.
- Champion the 30-Day Project Management Cycle. Take ownership of achieving deadlines and prepare regular work in progress reports and monthly status reports to present to stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact to address any concerns.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with all project stakeholders and communicate closely throughout the project lifecycle with all stakeholder groups including owners, contractors, permitting, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project success.
- Proactively manage scheduling and lead time to ensure materials and subtrades follow timelines and budget expectations.
- Manage cost control by tracking spending against the budget and reporting cost commitments and variances in advance.
- Ensure all aspects of Sealand’s Health & Safety Management system are implemented and expectations are clearly communicated and followed on all project sites.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in engineering or construction management.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in construction project management and a deep understanding of construction processes, methods, materials and engineering design principles.
- Complete understanding and experience with creating contracts and managing the full project life cycle for projects in the $1M – 30M range.
- Extensive hands-on experience in construction estimating, procurement, and managing construction sites.
- Experience managing projects in various construction delivery methods including Design Build, Construction Management at Risk, and Design + Bid + Build format.
- Proficiency in construction based project management software’s such as Procore and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of architectural and engineering design principles to bridge the gap between design and construction.

You are a problem solver in high stake situations and can address issues efficiently and calmly to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
