As the business continues to expand, they are looking to add an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and support the next stage of growth.
What You’ll Do
As the Controller, you will partner with the CEO and President to own Berk’s day-to-day financial operations and ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial reporting. This is a hands-on role within a growing organization, with the opportunity to help shape and strengthen financial decisions as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
Invoicing & Revenue Processes
- Oversee and own the company’s invoicing processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
- Work closely with operations and project teams to ensure billing aligns with project progress and contractual terms
- Monitor accounts receivable and support collections processes as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve invoicing workflows and financial tracking systems
Payroll Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight to the payroll team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with applicable payroll regulations and reporting requirements
- Support process improvements and payroll system efficiencies as the team grows
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Provide financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decisions
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Provide mentorship to support the future growth of the finance team, including onboarding additional accounting team members
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, and processes
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- CPA designation is preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4 – 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience within the sales or telecommunications industry is considered an asset
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with detailed, transactional data
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls
- Experience owning and overseeing invoicing/billing processes and payroll functions
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a growing organization
