On their behalf, Venor is seeking an innovative, curious and purpose-driven leader to join their high performing team as Director of Development.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Vice President, Philanthropy & Development, the Director of Development will have overall accountability for enhancing, designing, implementing and evaluating all components of the annual giving program. The Director will work in partnership with all levels of the organization as well as the development committee to further build the Foundation’s sponsorship and cause related marketing strategy and program. The Director will directly and indirectly build new and existing streams of revenue to support the Foundation’s growth strategy. This position will be a key leadership member of both Philanthropy & Organizational teams who are responsible for managing the execution of the Foundation’s initiatives and building culture in the organization. The Director will provide insight and lead strategic opportunities to ensure that the Foundation continues to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.

What we’re looking for:
Collaborating with a diverse group of internal stakeholders, your leadership will be key to evolving the culture to ensure innovation is identified and embraced as essential for the continued long-term success of the Foundation. You are a highly collaborative, purposeful individual with the confidence to make decisions with the intuitive nature to engage employees and bring people together for a common vision.
As the ideal candidate, you have a university degree combined with 10 plus years of experience in business strategy, strategy development, change management and/or operational planning. You have a proven track record of innovation, continuous improvement and growth. Previous experience in digital transformation would be an asset. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build and maintain relationships with peers, partners and key stakeholders at all seniority levels both within and outside the organization. Advanced communication skills are necessary, with an exceptional ability to successfully formulate then sell different approaches and new solutions directly to various audiences. A balance of right-brain and left-brain talents where your exceptional ability to conceive new ideas and approaches is very well balanced by critical thinking skills and the application of disciplined analysis in the evaluation of new business concepts is a must have.
