On behalf of Graybar Canada, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of People & Culture.

Reporting to the President, the Director of People & Culture works collaboratively with the Executive Team to plan and implement the Human Resource strategy and framework to support the strategic directions of the organization. This pivotal role provides key insight and value to build a sustainable and representative employee culture. In addition, this position manages and executes employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, recruitment and orientation, succession planning, training and development activities, and executes the operations of the human resources team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment: Align talent strategies with business goals, drive the people agenda, and address critical talent priorities, including succession planning.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Develop and implement programs to foster a culture of belonging.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve business and people-related issues.
  • HR Operations Leadership: Oversee core HR functions such as compensation, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee terminations.
  • Performance Management: Manage cyclical and event-driven processes, including reviews, compensation, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Design and optimize business workflows to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Contribute to due diligence and facilitate integration during M&A activities.
  • Learning & Development: Manage the learning management system and employee development programs.
  • Compliance: Develop policies and guidelines in alignment with employment laws and regulations.
  • Community Engagement: Lead and coordinate corporate charitable activities.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic HR initiatives while delivering on tactical mandates.
  • Deep expertise in multiple HR disciplines, including talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and change management.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
