On behalf of Hatch, Venor is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their Halifax, NS office.
What You’ll be Doing:
As the Electrical EIT, you will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects. You will be responsible for preparing engineering calculations and technical specifications, selecting electrical equipment, and creating floor plans and site drawings. You will have the opportunity to work directly under the lead electrical engineer to manage the delivery of projects while receiving guidance and mentorship to grow your skills!
- You will prepare technical documentation required for the execution of the project including general layout drawings, standard detail drawings, construction and/or fabrication drawings, site drawings, design criteria and calculations, preliminary studies, value engineering studies, standard specifications, equipment lists, as-built documentation, and data sheets
- You will monitor and review the shop drawings, fabrication, and construction work to ensure that it is executed in accordance with the engineering designs
- You will assist the Lead Electrical Engineer to measure the progress of the engineering work to ensure that project goals, scope, schedules, and budgets are being met
- You will check documentation, ensure interdisciplinary coordination, and review the quality audit outcomes of engineering work to perform remedial work in accordance with the project procedures and the quality assurance plan
What We’re Looking For:
As the successful candidate, you have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and are registered as an EIT or P.Eng with Engineers Nova Scotia or another Canadian engineering association. You have demonstrated experience or academic knowledge of design codes and standards combined with hands on experience using AutoCAD and REVIT.
As the successful candidate, you can effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary project team and communicate with various team members to contribute to project success. You love working on a diverse team to solve challenging problems. You have excellent planning and organization skills to assess the progress and success of projects relating to timelines, budgets, and other project constraints.
