Reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations, the Human Resources Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, benefits, employee engagement and employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices. What you’ll be doing:

  • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety
  • Assisting hiring managers with sourcing, recruiting, and hiring professionals across a wide range of departments
  • Conducting or acquiring background checks and employment eligibility verifications
  • Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintaining compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Staying up to date on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Assisting and coordinating various office management type duties and aiding in employee engagement activities
  • Helping to maintain the HRIS

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is considered an asset
  • Experience in a SaaS/Technology company is considered an asset
