Venor is proud to partner with our client, a globally recognized ocean technology company in their search for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Conducting circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC/EMI compliance.
- Developing system architectures and integrating electrical components into larger systems, considering overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components.
- Developing test plans and procedures, conducting testing, and performing validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
- Follow design criteria for projects using required codes and standards.
- Participate in the design review process.
- Review of engineering deliverables.
- Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process.
- Understand project requirements and provide operational support while in the field.
- Mentor Junior Electrical Engineers and Technologists.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in electrical design and testing, preferably in a related industry
- Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Effectively focus on high level project objectives while executing detailed design tasks.
- Incredible attention to detail.
- Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success.
- Experience in the design specification, installation and connection methods of electrical equipment.
- Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings and provide input into new product designs.
- Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment.
- High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize task.
