The IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing technical projects, procedures and documentation, including process improvement initiatives and the day-to-day management of the IT customer service team. The successful candidate will have professional experience in IT project management and leading agile/scrum activities, and exhibit strong problem-solving and analytical skills. A track record of delivering complex projects on time with exceptional attention to detail is a must. This position can be worked out of either our Fredericton, Saint John, or Halifax office, or remote within Canada.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing, improving, and documenting IT procedures to reduce toil and improve consistency
  • Leading Agile/Scrum activities to deliver project work on time
  • Leading technical staff in requirements gathering and planning for technical projects
  • Mentoring and coaching team members
  • Managing the full IT hardware asset lifecycle, including specifying and purchasing laptops, mobile devices, monitors, printers, conferencing equipment and accessories 
  • Managing on- and off-boarding of users
  • Managing IT customer service team supporting both local users as well as a global workforce, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and general issue resolution
  • Supporting a variety of services, technologies and environments. Includes MDM management of Mac OS X and Windows 10/11 computers, maintenance of simple office networks, and management of a large portfolio of SaaS applications, including Google Workspace
  • Championing a focus on automation of processes
  • Continuously monitoring and improving the security of internal IT software systems, networks and hardware

What we are looking for:

  • College diploma or a university degree with 5+ years experience in system/network administration; or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and training/certifications
  • Experience leading and growing a team of IT professionals
  • Ability to learn quickly and pick up new technologies
  • Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve tough issues whether they relate to people, processes, or technology
