Venor is proud to partner with our client, a leading Atlantic Canadian wholesale company, on
their search for an IT Manager. With a rich history spanning over 75 years, our client is 100%
Atlantic Canadian-owned, operated and, proudly female-led. They are a leader in end-to-end
product and service-based solutions spanning food preparation and service, food safety,
facilities maintenance, cleaning, and sanitization.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying
opportunities for technology innovation and improvement, overseeing the design,
implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure and E-commerce capabilities. Your
responsibilities will encompass managing servers, networks, hardware, and software including
maintenance and management of the company’s E-commerce platform, staying updated on best
practices, and developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures.
In this role, you will also be responsible for overseeing the IT department’s budget, managing
relationships with IT vendors and service providers, and negotiating contracts to ensure service
quality. You will lead IT projects, including upgrades and implementations, ensuring they meet
timelines and budgets. Additionally, you will provide technical support to employees and oversee
the IT helpdesk for efficient issue resolution.
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- ERP: Previous experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and familiarity with
workflows and processes is considered an asset. - Education: A College degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related
field would be considered an asset. - E-commerce: Prior experience with e-commerce systems, particularly Shopify would be
considered an asset. - Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge in network administration, system
administration, and cybersecurity, with a keen awareness of industry best practices,
compliance standards, and emerging technologies. - Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective
collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders. - Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address
complex IT challenges. - Project Management: Project management experience and relevant certifications (e.g.,
PMP, ITIL) are a plus, demonstrating your ability to lead successful IT projects.
