Venor is proud to partner with Graphite Innovation Technologies (GIT) on their search for a Logistics Manager. Graphite Innovation and Technologies Inc. (GIT) is a sustainable coatings company propelling environmental transformation in the maritime transportation sector.  They are an innovation driven organization that is socially and environmentally responsible. 

GIT offers a full range of easy to apply graphene-based, biocide and copper free coatings that support ESG mandates, deliver on green shipping initiatives, and solve industry challenges in meeting new regulatory measures.  With the focus of our XGIT line of coatings being to deliver fuel efficiency, drive decarbonization and reduce underwater noise, ship operators will reach optimal vessel performance while achieving sustainability goals. 

This is a term position for maternity leave coverage.

What You’ll Be Doing:

We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team. In this role, you will spearhead logistics initiatives, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at GIT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve logistics processes, striving for best-in-class practices.
  • Ensure timely completion and maintenance of shipping transactions documentation.
  • Coordinate with booking agents, carriers, and freight forwarders.
  • Oversee freight brokering, 3PL providers, and orders in collaboration with sales.
  • Negotiate rates and liaise with customers, carriers, and government agencies.
  • Handle commercial and trucking paperwork, shipping documents, and processing procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to exchange critical information on logistics/freight.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and address any delays proactively.
  • Manage ISO-related logistics documentation and processes.

Requirements and Skills

  • Demonstrated drive, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution centers.
  • Proficiency in traffic and transportation management.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with risk assessment capabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • High attention to detail and organizational proficiency.
  • Ability to meet timelines and priorities while adhering to protocols.
  • Collaboration skills to resolve production issues and support process improvements.

Educational Background and Experience

  • Minimum college diploma with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Supply chain and/or logistics diploma preferred.
  • CITT certification desirable.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation and procedures.
  • Experience in the courier industry and compliance with dangerous goods regulations.
  • Previous involvement in lean/process improvement initiatives.
