We’re partnering with Electec Engineering Inc. to find a talented Mechanical Designer to join their expanding team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. This is an excellent opportunity for a Certified Engineering Technologist who is ready to take on a key role in the design and coordination of diverse mechanical systems.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the company’s expanding mechanical division, contributing to the design and coordination of a diverse range of projects while building lasting relationships within the design and construction community.
Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Designing & Supporting
Design & Drafting:
- Develop detailed plumbing and HVAC system designs for commercial and multi-unit residential projects
- Complete heating and cooling load calculations in coordination with architectural designs and other consultants
- Assist with the sizing and selection of plumbing and mechanical systems
- Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD
Project Coordination & Quality:
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to support project delivery
- Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and equipment specifications
- Participate in project meetings and support site reviews as required
Codes & Standards:
- Apply and interpret relevant codes and standards including the Canadian Building and Plumbing Codes and ASHRAE guidelines
What We Are Looking For
As the ideal candidate, you hands-on experience in HVAC and plumbing system design. You are comfortable working with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite, and bring strong attention to detail in producing accurate, high-quality drawings and documentation. You have a solid understanding of applicable codes and standards, and enjoy working collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders. You are a practical problem-solver who approaches your work with organization, accountability, and a commitment to delivering reliable design solutions.
