Mechanical Engineer

Venor is proud to partner with LRL Associates/Spitfire Engineering to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for their Moncton-based Spitfire Engineering office. This candidate will lead and support projects in the building of mechanical and electrical design services in Moncton, New Brunswick, and the Atlantic region. 

Spitfire Engineering is based in Moncton, New Brunswick with an on-the-ground team of electrical and mechanical engineers & technologists. 

Spitfire Engineering’s parent company, LRL, based out of Ottawa, Ontario, is a multidisciplinary engineering firm, offering a comprehensive range of engineering services within Ontario, and other regions of Canada for over 30 years.

As the Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead M&E team in the Moncton office and integrate with Spitfire Design team. 
  • Developing schematic and detailed designs (HVAC plumbing and drainage)
  • Estimating construction costs
  • Options development and technical report writing
  • Conducting site investigations
  • Coordinating construction administration services
  • Attend design and construction meetings
  • Coordinating construction administration services
  • Tender specifications for construction
  • Coordinate work with Architects and Engineers of other disciplines 

 As the successful candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. Eng.) and P.Eng. or eligibility for registration, paired with 5+ years of related experience. Project management and building engineering consulting experience are strongly preferred.  You will have knowledge and experience with CADD (AutoCAD and/or Revit), along with Microsoft Office Suites. Energy modelling experience (Trace 700 or 3D+) is considered an asset.
