What you’ll be doing:
Working with the corporate management team, the Network and Systems Administrator will play an important role in ensuring that all IT needs are met across the organization. The Network and Systems Administrator will manage and support all IT infrastructure, including software and hardware, working to ensure systems run smoothly. You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining IT systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. This role will require you to troubleshoot day-to-day issues, from email problems to more complex systems challenges, and ensure that the company’s IT operations run smoothly. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain software across both on-premises and cloud environments (including Microsoft Office suite)
- Oversee the administration and support of the company’s ERP system (CDK Global)
- Handle network administration tasks, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic configuration
- Provide comprehensive IT support across the company, addressing issues from day-to-day troubleshooting to more complex technical challenges
- Proactively identify and resolve system inefficiencies or issues, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations
- Work to ensure IT security measures are in place while being prepared to support and modernize legacy systems
- Travel to other Nova Scotia locations as needed to support local IT infrastructure
- Serve as the company’s sole IT professional, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a network/systems administrator or general IT support technician
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in IT, computer science or other relevant combination of education and/or experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft systems administration (both on-prem and cloud)
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably CDK Global
- Intermediate network administration skills and understanding of IT security and data integrity
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a generalist approach to IT support
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and act self sufficiently
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Microsoft 365 certificate is considered an asset
