With over 150 staff, crews, and contractors, McCarthy’s is committed to continual improvement in workplace safety, incident prevention, claims management, and return-to-work programs.

McCarthy’s Roofing is on a journey to elevate Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards and is seeking a dynamic leader to champion this mission. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a self-starter with a passion for helping people, driving change, and implementing innovative strategies.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and implement OH&S strategies that align with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Lead initiatives to improve Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR), manage claims, and oversee return-to-work programs.
• Foster a culture of safety and inspire buy-in from crews and foremen to support the vision of a safer workplace.
• Act as a change leader, driving improvements in workplace safety while balancing empathy with assertiveness.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and safety training to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with leadership and field teams to identify and address opportunities for safety enhancements.
• Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety management, ideally within the construction or roofing industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
• Exceptional problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
• Knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in OH&S.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to safety management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
