Pension & Benefits Officer

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pension & Benefits Officer. In this role, you will oversee the administration and management of pension and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations in Canada. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the company’s pension and benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure adherence to Canadian pension and benefits legislation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding pension and benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and pension plan administrators to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
  • Prepare regular reports on pension and benefits utilization, costs, and trends; assist with internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to develop and update pension and benefits policies as needed.
  • Conduct employee training sessions on available benefits and pension options, ensuring understanding and participation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll and benefits processing, liaising with relevant teams when necessary.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in pension and benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with Canadian pension and benefits regulations.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation is considered an asset.
