Plant Controller

Kentville, Nova Scotia
Permanent

We have partnered with ANDRITZ, a global manufacturing quality engineering business who are seeking a Plant Controller to lead all costing activities for their fabrics and rolls plant in the beautiful growing town of Kentville, Nova Scotia. The plant in Kentville has been offering inclusive, supportive opportunities to its local community for years and has developed a tenured employee group by providing a safe, supportive, and collaborative work environment.

The Opportunity

As the Plant Controller for the Kentville facility, you will review all processes and procedures with your inquisitive costing lens. Reporting to the Plant Manager while working alongside a collaborative solutions-focused corporate and manufacturing plant-based tea, you will act in an influential position.

As you exercise your manufacturing costing experience and analytical abilities in a collaborative manner, you will improve variance discrepancies by uncovering effective procedures for each production area of the business.

Leading all cost accounting and budget-related duties for this facility, you will mentor and manage one direct report, analyze the expenses of different projects and general ledger accounts, validate standard costs, minimize variances between actual and standard activities, participate in monthly inventory statements, and present costing improvements, variance analysis and financial results to the corporate and senior teams.

Understanding the process, procedures, and materials used for production, you will be responsible to forecast, track and monitor pricing trends, identify areas for continuous improvement, develop systems to optimize productivity, and mitigate risks that may contribute to the long-term strategic plans.

To Be Considered

The successful accounting professional will have acquired a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, be confident and comfortable using manufacturing costing platforms, ideally Syteline, and be passionate to partner with an inclusive manufacturing group.

If you have 5+ years of cost accounting experience gained within a production environment, are software savvy, solutions-focused, driven to find the most cost-effective process, attain management experience, and seeking an opportunity to develop your skill set while supporting an innovative business, this role is a great opportunity for you to explore.
