About The Opportunity

Venor is proud to partner with WCB on their search for a new Policy Analyst to join their team. 

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy Support Planning, the Policy Analyst identifies emerging issues and risks and supports research, analysis, development and implementation of corporate-wide issues resolution including policy-related projects and initiatives.

The Policy Analyst solicits input from internal and external stakeholders to identify organizational opportunities and risks and to understand the impact and implications, identify and assess strategic options and make recommendations. They are responsible for research, analysis, development and implementation of corporate-wide policy-related projects and initiatives. The Policy Analyst develops background documents, reports and correspondence.  This specialist position also plays a key role in the provision of policy advice and assistance to staff, senior management and the Board of Directors, thus the incumbent requires a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and exceptional organizational skills.  Policy Analysts also are relied upon to communicate complex information to internal and external stakeholders in a manner that has meaning for them. The Policy Analyst must be analytical, creative, motivated by challenge and enthusiastic about helping the WCB deliver excellent service to workers, employers, and all workers’ compensation system stakeholders in Nova Scotia.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you satisfy the following requirements:

  • A graduate degree in a relevant discipline (MPA, MBA, MHSA, LLB)
  • A minimum of two years of directly related experience in the policy field including research, analysis and development

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, which includes an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as, but not limited to, PA, BBA, HSA), along with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience in the policy field including research, analysis and development
