As Acadian Construction expands its presence in Nova Scotia, this is an exciting opportunity for a driven construction professional to play a pivotal role in establishing its footprint in the Halifax market. The Pre-construction & Business Development Manager will leverage a combination of technical expertise and strategic relationship-building to identify new opportunities, guide project pursuits, and reinforce the company’s reputation as a preferred general contractor in the region.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Opportunity Development: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new project opportunities across the commercial, office, mixed-use, and private development sectors.
- Client & Partner Relationships: Build and maintain strong connections with developers, consultants, and industry stakeholders to drive business growth and brand recognition.
- Preconstruction Collaboration: Work closely with the Regional Director and Estimating team to prepare RFQs, proposals, and pursuit strategies that align with Acadian’s strategic goals.
- Market Positioning: Represent Acadian Construction at industry events, client meetings, and community functions to increase visibility and strengthen market presence.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, track development activity in the region, and provide market insights to support informed business decisions.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, or business development, supported by a well-established network within Halifax’s architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community and a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and follow-through. This role is best suited for someone who thrives working independently, demonstrates exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, and balances multiple priorities with initiative, focus, and strategic intent. The successful candidate will bring an entrepreneurial mindset, aligning daily actions with long-term market positioning and growth objectives. Project experience in commercial, institutional, and retail construction—with exposure to multi-residential developments—is preferred
