On behalf of our client, McCarthy’s Roofing Limited, the largest roofing company in Atlantic Canada, serving our region for over 35 years, we are seeking a Project Coordinator to join their team.
Recently under new ownership, McCarthy’s has been enjoying tremendous growth and success while earning the trust of new clients, suppliers and valued work crews. That growth has prompted the need for a new Project Coordinator.
Working with the production and project management teams, the Project Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager, and support the Roofing Superintendent and field crews. You will assist the Project Manager in all aspects of the portfolio of projects including planning, administration, and execution of projects on time, and within budget, ensuring client specifications are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will assist in the project planning stage and prepare estimates, schedules, project binders, and other contract documents.
- You will help identify key milestones in the project plan, then track the project progress to ensure timelines are met and budgets remain in scope.
- You will be required to communicate with field crews, clients, inspectors, consultants, McCarthys office and warehouse staff, etc., so solid communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, along with the ability to multitask.
- You will work closely with all project stakeholders to ensure project requirements are completed efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
As the ideal candidate, you have a basic understanding of the project management lifecycle and are interested in working in the construction industry. You are knowledgeable about construction methods, rules, and quality standards. A post-secondary education degree/diploma in engineering or a related technical construction management program is preferred, however not required. Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
As the successful candidate, you are detail oriented, organized, and have a proactive approach to problem solving while considering other factors that may affect the project or solution. You must have a valid driver’s license as field work and site visits will be required.
