  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, focusing on M&E deliverables and timelines.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure M&E installations are consistent with design specifications and project goals.
    • Support the shop drawing review for M&E materials, working with consultants to ensure technical specifications are met.
  • Design Review and Quality Control:
    • Oversee the review of mechanical and electrical designs, providing feedback to consultants and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Conduct design coordination meetings with consultants to proactively address potential issues before construction.
    • Ensure all M&E systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with design intent and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
    • Work closely with architectural, structural, and civil teams to ensure M&E systems are fully coordinated with other building components.
    • Resolve any conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and other design disciplines, ensuring smooth integration across the project.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all work complies with local regulations, industry standards, and safety guidelines.
    • Participate in commissioning, testing, and final inspections of M&E systems to verify proper installation.
    • Work with the design consultants to resolve any technical issues that arise during construction or commissioning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, with a strong focus on M&E coordination.
  • Proven ability to coordinate between design consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, including HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting systems, fire protection, control systems, and energy management solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues during design coordination.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, energy-efficient designs, and green building standards.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an advantage.
