Project Manager

DiscoveryGarden is a leading provider of Digital Preservation and Asset Management Systems. From scans of telegrams sent by Babe Ruth held at the Baseball Hall of Fame Archives to construction photos of the Golden Gate Bridge housed at the San Francisco Public Library, they help organizations share and preserve their most prized digital assets. As a Project Manager at DiscoveryGarden, you will serve as the primary liaison between client teams and their project delivery team. Reporting to the CEO, your expertise in project management, combined with a strong technical background, will ensure clear communication, meticulous planning, and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and communicating project requirements effectively between client and delivery teams via an Agile sprint methodology. 
  • Representing the voice of the client, ensuring all internal project team members are aware of client objectives, vision, and goals, and ensuring client needs are met are satisfied through the duration of the project.
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, utilizing tools like Jira/Confluence and other appropriate software, ensuring projects are tracked on time and within budget. 
  • Leading meetings, supporting customer needs analysis and leading documentation of project requirements and specifications.
  • Managing and tracking task assignments daily, ensuring team adherence to project timelines and goals. 
  • Establishing a forecasting model for project execution and project delivery to provide new clients with realistic timelines and the business with predictable billing forecasts.  
  • Facilitating successful knowledge transfer and team onboarding for new projects.
  • Managing project scope and change request process when scope changes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, capable of translating complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • A fast learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, managing details across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactiveness in anticipating and addressing potential project scope and timeline issues.
  • A Commitment to company implementation policies and procedures.
  • Technical proficiency including familiarity with JIRA, Agile, and G-Suite tools is an asset.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada, with a strong preference for candidates based in PEI, Canada.

DiscoveryGarden operates in a remote/hybrid environment with a preference for those working in the Atlantic/Eastern Time Zones, with an on-site location in Charlottetown, PEI. This role has a compensation range of $75,000 – $100,000.
