Our client, a progressive and growing distributor of meat and protein products is looking for a Quality Specialist to join their team in Halifax. 

The facility is HACCP certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The Quality Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the quality control processes and food safety program. Key responsibilities include monitoring, developing and maintaining food safety and quality standards.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Manage CFIA and the Quality programs.
  • Ongoing monitoring, auditing, and tracking of storage processes to ensure ongoing attention and adherence to Food Safety and Quality standards.
  • Quality issue investigation and resolution.
  • Training of employees on quality and food safety processes and procedures.
  • Complete and maintain quality control documentation.

The successful candidate will have experience in food science/food safety and an in depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards. As the Quality Specialist you have experience and knowledge of HACCP and have strong planning and project management skills.
