Venor is proud to partner with our client, a globally recognized ocean technology company in their search for a Senior Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
- PCB Design and Development: Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring they meet functionality, reliability, and manufacturability standards.
- Circuit Simulation: Conduct circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Wiring and Cable Design: Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC/EMI compliance.
- System Integration: Develop system architectures and integrate electrical components into larger systems, ensuring overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
- Project Leadership: Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, supporting the project management office in developing work breakdown structures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components.
- Manufacturing and Testing: Direct activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and procedures, conduct testing, and perform validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
- Design Review: Establish design criteria for projects using required codes and standards. Participate in the design review process and review and approve engineering deliverables.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to the Production department during the manufacturing process and work with customers to understand project requirements and provide operational support in the field.
- Mentorship: Mentor Electrical Engineers and Technologists.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field.
- Design and Troubleshooting: Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills with incredible attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record of success.
- PCB and Equipment Design: Experience in the design specification, installation, and connection methods of electrical equipment. Proficiency in designing and reviewing PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings, and providing input into new product designs.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in technical reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.
- Organizational Skills: High degree of organization with the ability to prioritize tasks.
