As an ambassador for the PSSP, the Senior Manager will be instrumental in driving membership growth while maintaining strong relationships across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employer Engagement & Assessment:
Meet virtually and in person with employers, unions, and stakeholders to provide detailed guidance on the various ways employers may join the Plan, including migrating existing defined benefit pensions or starting ‘fresh’ in the PSSP as a new participating employer. Evaluate potential employers by analyzing their workforce size, any existing pension plan, and financial goals to ensure alignment with the PSSP.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with divisional counterparts to address any potential gaps between employer expectations and the transition process. Capture employer/membership details and report progress to the Project Manager and Chief Pensions Officer
  • Support & Representation:
Attend meetings with municipal councils, corporate boards, university representatives and other key bodies to support employers in their decision-making process. Attend member information sessions and support employers’ actuarial and legal consultants.
  • Marketing & Outreach:
Identify opportunities for improving marketing materials and help develop new resources for prospective employers. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure marketing materials are accurate, engaging, and complete.
  • Public Speaking & Education:
Represent PSSP at local and provincial industry, employer and labour events and present at local, regional and national conferences. Educate employers, actuarial consulting firms, and pension law firms as to the variety of options available in the PSSP.

What you need to be successful:
