Venor is proud to partner with GeoSpectrum Technologies as they continue their growth. We are seeking highly motivated Project Managers who are passionate about working in a highly integrated and collaborative ocean technology environment. We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager with thorough knowledge of SDLC and an interest in working on the development and delivery of complex systems to direct GTI project and release schedules.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead day-to-day operational aspects of a project from inception to closure, including project scope, planning, risk management, and status reports
  • Works with other project managers on the allocation of resources
  • Prepares, tracks, and documents project meetings through the project lifecycle
  • Works with other project and program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the company
  • Identifies, manages, and mitigates risks, issues, and changes while maintaining responsibility for their outcomes
  • Maintains responsibility for the success and satisfaction of client relationships
  • Provides planning direction and staff management for 1-2 scrum teams through sprint retrospective and planning meetings
  • Assists scrum teams with estimation of user stories, tasks, and defects
  • Realistically assesses the work planned for each sprint and empowers the scrum team self-organize and meet its sprint objectives
  • Analyzes project outcomes for improvements in processes and future projects
  • Creates opportunities for deeper collaboration with our customers, within the software group, and more broadly across GTI

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, including oral and written
  • Willingness to encourage and embrace change in technology, environment, and processes
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Experience with scrum or other agile methodologies is considered an asset
  • Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are considered an asset
  • Domain expertise in sonar and underwater acoustics is considered an asset
